Louisiana
Tech University English faculty who regularly teach electronic courses
are referred to as e-instructors. These professors and instructors each
have years of experience in the classroom, and they have converted that
traditional classroom experience into an electronic format to better
serve students who need the flexible scheduling that electronic courses
can deliver.
Ms.
Susan Eller:
Susan
L. Eller has taught English for more than twenty years (but who's
counting?), beginning as an undergraduate peer-tutor in the
Writing Center
of the
University of Central Arkansas
(BA 1986). She first developed a serious
interest in technical communication at Southern Illinois University at
Carbondale where she
taught it as a freshman- level course and became impressed by the
students' response to its practical applications. Since receiving
her MA in English from SIU-C, she has taught or incorporated technical
communication elements in a variety of composition, business, and
humanities courses for universities in
Illinois and
Louisiana . She has further served as
editor or technical writer for a variety of commercial and educational
publications and is the editor of the Louisiana Association for College
Composition newsletter. Ms. Eller believes effective
communication essential to everyone in order to realize personal and
professional potential and greatly enjoys her teaching at
Louisiana Tech
University .
Dr. Tamara
Powell:
Tamara
Powell has a certificate in electronic elearning from the Louisiana
Consortium for the Advancement of Distance Education (LaCADE) and is a
member of the Louisiana Distance Learning Association (LaDLA). She has
eleven years of teaching experience at the university level. She
recieved her B.A. from Hendrix College in Conway, Arkansas; and her
M.A. from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. She received
her Ph.D. from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green,
Ohio. Her areas of interest include multiethnic literatures of the U.S.
and women's literature. Dr. Powell is the Charlyne Smith Wyche Endowed
Professor of English and the English Department Electronic Learning
Coordinator.
Dr. Dorothy Robbins:
Dorothy
Dodge Robbins has 20 years of teaching experience. She received her B.A.
in English and German from Oklahoma
City University, and her
M.A.
in Communication from the University
of Oklahoma . She earned
her M.A.
in English from the University
of South Dakota
and
her Ph.D.
in English from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Areas of expertise
include composition
theory and pedagogy, literary criticism and theory, and 20th
Century literature in English with a focus on the Moderns. Dr. Robbins is
widely published in her fields of expertise, and she has presented over
25 conference papers in her areas of interest.
